The Directorate of Public Instruction, Chhattisgarh has released a major teaching opportunity through the Chhattisgarh Karmchari Chayan Mandal (CG Vyapam). A total of 1,654 posts of Teacher (Shikshak) are advertised for the financial year 2026. These posts are divided into two cadres – E‑Cadre (868 posts) and T‑Cadre (786 posts) – and cover six subjects: Hindi, Sanskrit, English, Mathematics, Social Science, and Agriculture.

aspirants must meet all three gates of eligibility: educational qualification, residence proof, and age limit.
Graduation in the subject you intend to teach PLUS either:
• 2‑year D.El.Ed. (by any name) – no marks bar.
• 1‑year B.Ed. with 50 % marks in graduation (or 45 % marks if B.Ed. as per NCTE Regulations).
• Higher Secondary + 4‑year B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed./B.El.Ed. with 50 % marks in Higher Secondary.
• Graduation + 1‑year B.Ed. (Special Education) with 50 % marks in graduation.
Pass in the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the appropriate Government under NCTE norms, **except for Agriculture** where TET is NOT compulsory (B.Ed. is mandatory).
Hindi – Hindi Literature
Sanskrit – Sanskrit Literature, or B.A. (Classics)
English – English Literature
Mathematics – Mathematics plus any two of Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Computer Science, Statistics, Military Science, Geology
Social Science – Any one of History, Geography, Commerce, Economics, Political Science
Agriculture – Agriculture (graduation)
Minimum age: 21 years
Maximum age: 35 years as on 1 January 2026
SC / ST / OBC (non‑creamy layer): +5 years
Women candidates: +10 years
Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan): As per GAD instructions
Chhattisgarh Government servant (permanent or temporary, including Contingency Fund‑paid and work‑charged staff): Age not above 38 years
Employee of a Chhattisgarh State Corporation or Board: Age not above 38 years
Retrenched Government servant: Deduct earlier temporary service, up to 7 years
Ex‑serviceman: Deduct the entire earlier defence service
Award recipients & inter‑caste marriage incentive spouses: +5 years
Volunteer Nagar Sainik / Nagar Sena Non‑Commissioned Officer: +8 years, never above 38 years
⚠️ Note: All relaxations stop at an overall cap of 45 years; no combination can exceed this limit. For retrenched and ex‑serviceman categories, the relaxed age cannot exceed the upper limit by more than 3 years.
A Chhattisgarh local resident (domicile) certificate is mandatory for every applicant.
Reserved‑category candidates must produce a permanent caste certificate from the competent authority; SC/ST married women need a certificate bearing their father’s name, otherwise age and reservation benefits will not apply.
Eligibility is barred for any candidate who has more than one living wife (or married a man who already has one), married below the legal minimum age, or has been convicted of an offence against women.
The entire selection rests on a **single written examination** conducted by CG Vyapam.
No interview, no second‑stage screening – the written result alone decides selection.
Provisionally, the exam is scheduled for **25 October 2026** (tentative). The exact pattern, syllabus, negative marking, and marks per question will be announced in CG Vyapam’s separate examination notification.
The selection list is valid for **6 months**. A category‑wise waiting list of up to 25 % of vacant posts is valid for 9 months.
Appointment is subject to medical fitness (PwBD candidates appear before the District Medical Board) and police character verification. False information or document discrepancy results in cancellation at any stage.
