• Age relaxations are granted to reserved categories as follows:

Selection Process

There is no written examination and no interview for this recruitment. Selection is purely based on merit and document verification.

Merit List Preparation

• The merit list is prepared unit‑wise, trade‑wise and community‑wise.

• For general trades, merit is the average of the percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation and the ITI marks in the applied trade.

• For Laboratory Technician (Pathology & Radiology) the merit is calculated on the basis of Matriculation marks plus 12th‑standard Science marks (Physics, Chemistry & Biology).

• If two candidates have identical marks, the older candidate is ranked higher.

Document Verification (DV)

• Shortlisted candidates, equal to 1.5 times the notified slots, are called for Document Verification.

• Candidates must bring all original certificates and a medical fitness certificate.

Stipend & Compensation

Act Apprentices are paid a monthly stipend as per the rates fixed under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

• First year: ₹9,600 per month (minimum stipend for NTC/STC holders, effective 11 September 2025)

• Second year (where one year exemption is admissible): ₹10,560 per month

• Third year (where two years exemption is admissible): ₹11,040 per month

During the apprenticeship training, you will receive a stipend that starts at ₹9,600 and can go up to ₹11,040 in higher training years – providing real income while you acquire a valuable railway trade. Note: No hostel accommodation is provided; candidates must arrange their own stay.
