Last date to apply and pay fee | 19 October 2026 |
Age reckoned as on | 1 January 2026 |
Written exam date | To be announced on the Board’s website |
The selection consists of three stages: a written examination, a typing test (for Clerk posts), and counselling. Part‑A of the written exam is qualifying only, while Part‑B determines merit. There is negative marking in Part‑B (¼ mark deduction per wrong answer). Below are the detailed steps.
Objective MCQ in two parts – Part‑A (qualifying) and Part‑B (merit).
Part‑A – Matric‑level Punjabi paper
Qualifying marks: minimum 50%.
Part‑B – General Aptitude / Concerned discipline
1 mark per question, ¼ mark deduction for wrong answer.
Prescribed for all Clerk posts only.
Speed: 30 words per minute in both English and Punjabi (Raavi font).
Qualifying nature – candidates must clear this test to be considered further.
Common Merit List – compiled from Part‑B marks of typing‑qualified candidates.
Counselling – document verification is done at counselling centres. Candidates must bring original certificates and category/domicile certificates.
In case of a tie in marks, the older candidate is given preference, then higher percentage in the required qualification, then higher Matric marks. Clerk (Legal) and Clerk (IT) candidates will indicate their department preferences later during counselling.
The application process is completely online, and no physical forms are accepted. Follow these steps to ensure a smooth submission.
Visit the official application portal (link provided in Essential Links below) and click “Apply Online”.
Click “Registration” and fill in your personal details; your Email ID becomes your User ID. Existing candidates can log in directly.
Fill personal and educational details, upload a passport‑size photo (or live capture) and signature, then click “Save Draft” or “Next”.
Attach Annexure – upload your 10th certificate, qualification certificates, and other required documents in PDF; click “Save Documents”.
Click “Make payment” and pay the fee online (ensure the transaction is successful before proceeding).
Click “Submit”, print the application form and keep it safe for future reference.
A form without a photo and signature is treated as incomplete and rejected. Keep your Punjab domicile certificate and category certificate ready before you start. Fill the form yourself, not at a cyber‑cafe, because no corrections are allowed after submission.
Fee not paid in full or not by the set mode – candidature cancelled.
Incomplete or wrong information in the form – candidature cancelled.
Online process not completed – candidature cancelled.
Debarred by SSSB or any other body – disqualified.
Qualification, age or reservation conditions not met – candidature cancelled.
Applying by any route other than the Board’s website – application rejected.
Applying under a category that has no post in this advert – candidature cancelled.
Governing body employee not applying through proper channel – candidature cancelled.
Reservation claim – only Punjab residents; upload a domicile certificate not older than 5 years.
Missing document at counselling – candidate will not be considered; next merit candidate is recommended.
Ex‑servicemen seats – filled first by ESM (Self), then ESM (Dependent), then as per the 1982 ESM Rules.
Match your degree to the exact department row – a B.Com graduate fits Clerk (Accounts) in Excise & Taxation, not the Employment Generation row.
Practice typing in Raavi font at 30 wpm – this is a mandatory qualifying test.
Ensure your Matriculation certificate includes Punjabi as a compulsory/elective subject; otherwise you will be disqualified.
Pay the fee a few days before the deadline to avoid last‑minute technical glitches.
Keep a printed copy of the submitted application form, with a clear screenshot of the confirmation page.
