The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the much‑awaited CRP CSA‑XVI notification for the largest clerical recruitment drive of the year. A total of 11,403 Customer Service Associate (CSA) posts – popularly known as IBPS Clerk – are available across 11 public sector banks.
The application window runs from 1 August 2026 to 21 August 2026 (21 days). Aspiring candidates must ensure they have a graduation degree in any discipline, basic computer literacy, and proficiency in the local language of the State/UT they choose. The starting basic pay is ₹24,050 per month, with a clear growth path that can go up to ₹64,480. Detailed eligibility, age relaxations, fee structure and step‑by‑step application instructions are provided below.
One of the most important rules is that you can apply for only one State/UT; once selected, the choice cannot be changed. Below is the provisional state‑wise vacancy list from the official notification.

Total 11,403 vacancies. The category‑wise split across all states is: UR 4,740; OBC 2,815; SC 1,910; EWS 996; ST 942.
A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognised by the Government of India, or any equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.
Candidates must hold a valid mark‑sheet or degree certificate on the day of registration and must enter their graduation percentage in the online form.
Graduation must be completed as on 21 August 2026.
Computer literacy – operating and working knowledge of computers is compulsory.
Local language proficiency – you must be able to read, write, speak and understand the specified local language of the State/UT you are applying for.
There is **no minimum percentage requirement in graduation, making this exam open to almost every graduate seeking a government job.
Age is calculated as on 1 August 2026. Candidates must have been born between 2 August 1998 and 1 August 2006 (both dates inclusive) to fall within the 20‑28 years age bracket.
General / EWS – No relaxation.
OBC (Non‑Creamy Layer) – 3 years.
SC / ST – 5 years.
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities – 10 years.
Widows & divorced women (not remarried) – Up to 35 years (Gen/EWS), 38 years (OBC), 40 years (SC/ST).
Ex‑Servicemen / DESM – Service period + 3 years (8 years for SC/ST DESM), maximum age 50 years.
Remember, **EWS candidates get no age relaxation** and must pay the full fee – a common source of confusion each year.
The notification provides the complete pay scale, which is a long‑term growth path rather than a fixed salary.
Starting Basic Pay: ₹24,050 per month
Pay Scale: ₹24,050 – 1,340/3 – 28,070 – 1,650/3 – 33,020 – 2,000/4 – 41,020 – 2,340/7 – 57,400 – 4,400/1 – 61,800 – 2,680/1 – **₹64,480
Allowances: Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance and other perquisites as per the participating bank’s rules.
Besides the monthly salary, a bank job includes provident fund, gratuity, medical benefits, leave travel concession, concessional staff loans, and a pension scheme. Allowances differ by bank and city, so the in‑hand salary varies accordingly.
There are **no interviews** in this recruitment. The selection is purely merit‑based through three online stages.
English Language – 30 questions / 20 marks (20 mins)
Numerical Ability – 35 questions / 20 marks (20 mins)
Reasoning Ability – 35 questions / 20 marks (20 mins)
Total – 100 questions / 100 marks (60 mins)
Only clearing this stage is required; prelims marks are **not** added to the final merit list.
General / Financial Awareness – 40 questions / 20 marks (20 mins)
General English – 40 questions / 15 marks (15 mins)
Reasoning Ability – 40 questions / 30 marks (25 mins)
Quantitative Aptitude – 40 questions / 25 marks (20 mins)
Total – 160 questions / 200 marks (125 mins)
Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer applies. Candidates must meet the minimum cutoff in each section and overall. Main exam marks are converted out of 100 for provisional allotment. If multiple sessions are held, scores are normalised using the equi‑percentile method.
After the mains result and provisional allotment, candidates must clear a qualifying LLPT in the language they opted for. Exemption is granted if the candidate has studied that language as a subject up to Class 10 or above and possesses the certificate.
Before you begin, keep the following ready:
Scanned photograph, signature, left thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration in English.
Graduation mark‑sheet.
Valid email ID and a working mobile number.
Decide your State/UT in advance – you cannot change it later.
Follow these steps:
Visit the official IBPS online registration portal- Direct link available on below.
Click on “CRP Clerical / CSA – New Registration” and enter your name, contact details and email ID to generate a provisional registration number and password.
Log in again and fill in personal, educational and category details. Select the State/UT you want to apply for and the local language you opt for.
Upload the scanned photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration exactly as per the size and format specified in the notification.
Preview the complete application form carefully, correct any mistakes and submit.
Pay the application fee online using debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI, IMPS or a mobile wallet.
Submit the form and download or print the system‑generated e‑receipt and the filled application for your records.
If you notice a mistake after submission, IBPS provides a **2‑day Edit Window** after registration closes, but using it requires an additional online payment. Hence, it is far better to double‑check everything before hitting submit.

The online registration and fee payment window close on **21 August 2026**. Do not wait until the last day as server traffic can slow down the process.
