A candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or Technology) from a university recognized by the Government. The notification also accepts several allied civil branches such as Construction Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, and other recognized civil specialisations (the full list is provided in the PDF). Additionally, candidates must have basic computer knowledge as per Gujarat Civil Services rules.
As on 10 August 2026, the age of a candidate must be not less than 18 years and not more than 35 years. The age relaxation is provided as per Gujarat Government rules.

Once appointed, candidates will receive a fixed pay of ₹49,600 per month for the first five years, which provides immediate financial stability. After completing five years of service on the fixed pay, the engineer is placed in the regular Pay Level‑7 scale ranging from ₹39,900 to ₹1,26,600, along with Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and other benefits as per Gujarat Government rules. The selection is entirely based on a Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) / OMR examination conducted by the Mandal.
